Rebecca Ellis Counselling Services: Counselling / Psychotherapy / Individual & Group Supervision

I am an Accredited and Registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Registered number - 018205. I am also a qualified Online counsellor through ACTO. Being accredited and registered as a counsellor/psychotherapist means I have completed the requisite training and achieved and maintain professional qualifications and training necessary for good practice.  I am a qualified Individual and Group Supervisor through Cascade (a validated course that supports BACP requirements for supervisory accreditation). In both my counselling and supervisory work, I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also hold professional indemnity insurance. I have an up to-date enhanced DBS (formally CRB) check that is clear, which enables me to work with children, young people and vulnerable adults. I am ICO registered too.

I am based in Bracknell, Berkshire, UK. The Counselling Service is ideally located within easy reach of the M3 and the M4 and 10 minute drive from Bracknell town centre. Parking is available. There are also buses that stop at the end of the road. The Counselling Service is located in a comfortable and confidential purpose built counselling / supervision room. I also provide online and telephone, counselling and supervision which means I can work with you wherever you are based within the UK.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can explore personal or difficult issues that you may be struggling with. I work in an Integrative way which means I use theories and concepts from different therapeutic models - recognising that you are an individual who needs a way of working with, that is individual to you and the issues you are presenting with. My professional accredited training and experience enables me to work with you on a short-term solution focused basis, as well as an open-ended longer term basis to enable us to explore personal challenges at a deeper level.

People come to counselling with a variety of presenting issues such as stress and depression, relationship problems, anxiety, loss and bereavement, health issues, abuse, sexuality, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, anger,  self-harm, generalised problems at home/work/school/university etc. I am experienced in working with all these issues, working with children, young people and adults from a variety of settings and backgrounds. I also have experience working over many months, counselling people with longer term mental health conditions such as bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia. I am an experienced Oncology counsellor too.

I have set up and managed two counselling services - one in a university and one in a school for children with emotional and behavioural problems. I also have extensive knowledge and experience of working with Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) both as an affiliate counsellor and also as a manager and supervisor. I provided clinical supervision in the university environment to the student support team, and the associate counsellors.

It is important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor/supervisor. The counselling/supervisory relationship is central to work happening and change occurring. This is why I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone consultation - to enable you to ask any questions, and to assess whether I am the right Counsellor/Supervisor for you.  Counselling/Supervision may feel challenging at times and hard work however with your commitment and engagement that’s when you will begin to experience change.
